Yes, I'm just as shocked as you are. Yes, I am licking that trophy to make sure it's real.
I've written a cookbook, which is probably why you're here in the first place. It's called Do Yourself a Flavour and it's OUT NOW! It's aimed at young adults wanting to up their cooking game and make great food on a budget. While I have rough plans for a second cookbook of my own, I'm also interested in ghostwriting recipe books for others - contact me for more information.
I'm a freelance journalist available to write about all things budget cooking and a few other bits and bobs too.
I've written for The Guardian, the Evening Standard, The Scotsman, and Insider.com. I'm also a panellist for BBC R4's The Kitchen Cabinet. This photo is of me reviewing a windproof shell for UK Hillwalking, where I'm a regular columnist.
I've developed recipes for Ocado, BBC Good Food, BBC Food, and Lollipop.ai. Tinkering around with food is what I do best, so if you're after a recipe developer for midweek meals, themed baking, or thrifty cooking, then I'm your gal.
Although Student Cuisine for the Gloomy Teen is where it all kicked off, I'm no longer a student or a gloomy teen, so I've moved over to Substack, where I write a once-in-a-blue-moon newsletter called Amused Bouche. It documents everything I get up to in my life which is food related, and you should sign up. It's absolutely free of charge.
I grew up in Cornwall but have lived in Scotland since moving up for university in 2017. Alongside cooking, eating and writing, I enjoy all manner of outdoor activities and I also play a bit of Jazz piano. My favourite colour is Port Salut, and I once dressed up as the Quaker Oats man for a laugh.
